Hi! It's Edward again! Early in December, I got a notification from Duolingo that my Year in Review was ready. If you've been following along with these language-themed posts, you'll know two things.
1. I've fallen off the Duolingo Catalan Vlogs. (Sorry.)
2. This year I've really gotten back into using Duolingo after an extensive time away.
The last time I was really using Duolingo, these personalised year in review concepts weren't really a thing like they are now. So here we are! At the end of December, and the data is a little off at the time of writing this. But nevertheless, it's kind of interesting! To me at least.
Being in the top 2% of learners on Duolingo this year seems like...a lot? But I guess I could be higher. But 28,923 experience points is not too shabby, eh. There's a lot of minutes. Honestly, that feels like an underestimate even though it's definitely accurate.
The most interesting part to me is that I've learned 2,208 words. Between Catalan and Polish, a higher proportion of those words are Catalan. It's much easier to learn a language in a family you're already extensively familiar with. I wish I knew more specifically how much I learned in each language. It might motivate me to learn a bit more - but realistically, I would just brag about it.
I wonder how much I'll get done in 2023!
Adéu! Pa pa! -Edward
