If you're in the mood for a good comedy, I highly recommend Benvinguts a la família (Welcome to the family). I watched the first season back in 2018 when I was in my original Catalan phase. I had just finished another tv show in Catalan (which I will detail in a future blog post, sorry!) and was craving another. I knew of one actress, Yolanda Ramos, and figured that this would be a hit. She's a hilarious actress even when I have no idea what she's saying (which is most of the time). Let's just say I wasn't disappointed. The story involves a family who is forced to move out of their home and in doing so, the mother decides to reach out to her father. Hilarity and ridiculousness ensures, obviously. Because of this show I knew who Georgina Amorós was when she joined Élite in season 2. I never saw the second season because I'm pretty sure it was never released on Netflix (where I saw the first). Watching this show was a real brain-heavy activity. Here on Spanish Netflix it was either Spanish or Catalan subtitles so...regardless I wasn't able to browse Instagram while watching. But no complaining - it was better than any amount of mindless scrolling. Unfortunately, I could only find the trailer below which doesn't have any subtitles (weird?). But take a glance, and maybe try to find the show. You won't be disappointed either.
